Winter is Coming

Well, it's here. But who could resist a Game of Thrones heading?! Speaking of games, we played a few at our recent annual strategy day, in the name of getting our creative juices flowing - all the better to map out a path forward for the society in coming years. You can read a bit more about it in our presidents' report, and we'll also have further results to discuss next month, after we have a follow-up session.

One of the many things that came out of the strategy day was the concept of change: we need to make a few changes to ensure the future viability and continued relevance of our ever-growing, volunteer-run society. We've already made several, of course. This website and the newsletter format are perhaps the most obvious.

Change is always scary, but after a couple of months we feel like we're getting to know the new site and newsletter template a bit better. And we hope you're finding it easy (if not easier?) to use and read as well. In response to questions from some members who have experienced a few technical issues, we'd like to remind readers that the newsletter is a members-only benefit, so you must be logged into the website to read the articles. The benefit of hosting the articles individually on the site is that they're now archived and searchable.

If you're finding you're not receiving the newsletters in your inbox, please check your spam folder, and perhaps clear your cache. The new newsletter also comes from a different address (newsletter@editorsvictoria.org), so it might be worth adding this address to your white list.

That's all for now. If you have any questions, tips, suggestions, story ideas, requests or anything else, just drop us an email: newsletter@editorsvictoria.org.
