'Guidelines for Editing Research Theses' Updated

The 'Guidelines for editing research theses' have recently been updated regarding plagiarism, with the documents for editors, students and supervisors amended. 

The guidelines were originally developed in conjunction with the Deans and Directors of Graduate Studies (DDoGS), which is now the Australian Council of Graduate Research Inc. (ACGR).

What is it with superscript? Why is it that authors with absolutely no grasp of grammar or rudimentary typography insist on using superscript for ordinal numbers? It does my head in.
