Mentoring Update: Finding 'The One'

  • Print

'The one' is out there somewhere.

The mentoring program is receiving rave reviews from participants. One of the reasons is that we do our best to arrange matches made in heaven.

Maybe there's no such thing as a perfect match. However, we have single mentees and mentors waiting for your call.

If you can help with one of the following, then your perfect mentee is waiting for you:

  • providing career advice to budding editors or people whose role involves editing and would like to change careers
  • using social media
  • starting a freelance business
  • growing a freelance business
  • the world of freelance proofreading.

Or, are you:

  • a mid-career editor who is feeling stuck or would like to extend your skill set (for example, from copyediting to substantive editing)
  • an editor who would like help with MS Word and/or styling long documents
  • an editor who would like individual help with line-by-line editing skills
  • a journal editor (or someone with an interest in journal editing)
  • a science editor
  • an academic editor
  • all of the above?

If you said yes to any of the above, then your perfect mentor could be waiting.

Contact me now at mentorship@editorsvictoria.org.

I will also be at write | edit | index, the 2015 Australian Conference for Editors, Indexers, and Publishing Professionals. You will find me at the Saturday morning session on mentoring, if not before. Feel free to ask me questions in person at any time.
