Now presenting your magnificent (if we do say so ourselves) new committee ... drum roll ...

Meredith joined Editors Victoria in 2012 while studying a postgraduate certificate in Editing and Electronic Publishing (online at Macquarie University). She is a qualified teacher and librarian and has been working recently in educational research and policy, and freelance editing.

Jackey Coyle: President, Executive Committee

Jackey edits and writes fiction, nonfiction and poetry. A serial entrepreneur, she is the Founding Editor of the national magazine and website Inside Small Business and runs the Dance Steps for the Self-Employed Editor training course. Jackey holds a Master of Arts in Writing & Literature and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Davina Dadley-Moore: Executive Committee, Professional Development

After more than a decade as a biomedical research scientist, Davina swapped her pipette for a pen. For the next seven years, she worked with top scientists to illuminate their findings, as an editor at Nature, Nature Reviews and the Trends journals in London. Now back home in Melbourne, she is a freelance science and medical editor and trains researchers in the craft of science writing.

Kate Goldsworthy: Executive Committee, Communication

Kate has been on the committee since August 2013 as newsletter co-ed. She is a freelance editor and proofreader who works with clients including Allen & Unwin, Penguin Random House, Black Inc., Text, HarperCollins and Affirm Press. She has served on the Voiceworks Editorial Committee and the Express Media Management Board, and worked as an editor at Black Inc. She graduated from the RMIT Professional Writing & Editing course in 2013.

Anne Gugger: Freelance Affairs

Anne is a specialist editor in the area of content and useability in multimedia publications, and believes that the ever-increasing number of amateur digital content publishers could potentially translate into a pool of clients for freelance editors. She hopes that through Editors Victoria and IPEd we can find ways to transform this potential into a professional reality.

Lorna Hendry: Executive Committee, Communication

This is Lorna's second year on the committee. She is a freelance designer, writer and editor and teaches in the Professional Writing and Editing course at RMIT. Lorna is our voice on Facebook and Twitter and she'd love you to like, follow and interact with us on social media.

Charles Houen: Executive Committee, IPEd Councillor, Secretary, Treasurer

Charles joined the society in 2005 after a long career in corporate IT, during which he wrote and edited many documents for public and internal audiences. Charles spends much of his time on IPEd, where he was the company secretary from 2012 to 2014, and has been our Victorian councillor since April 2013.

Andi Jones: IPEd Accreditation Board delegate, Professional Development

Andi has worked in various editorial roles for a diverse range of publishers since 2007. She believes in the value of a national editorial accreditation scheme, which is why she has volunteered to work with Editors Victoria and IPEd. She welcomes any questions about accreditation.

Astrid Judge

Astrid has been a member of Editors Victoria for more than twenty years. She began editing in-house at Heinemann, and today works as a freelancer writing and editing educational resources. She's interested in improving working conditions for editors.

She's really excited to be working on the Events and the Professional Development sub-committees.
