Renewal of Accreditation

  • Print

The IPEd accreditation scheme has been in operation for five years, which means that the first batch of AEs - those accredited in 2008 - will be due for renewal of accreditation by the end of this year. Some information about renewal of accreditation, with a preliminary draft of the application form, is already on the IPEd website, and more detailed information will become available within the next few weeks.

Applications for renewal will be accepted from the end of September, and must be made by 31 December 2013. Applicants will not have to sit an exam; instead they will be asked to demonstrate that they have been actively involved in the editing profession and have undertaken appropriate professional development activities to maintain and enhance their editing skills.

All 2008 AEs (and those accredited in later years whose details may have changed) should make sure that IPEd has their current contact details. Changes can be notified to the IPEd Secretary, Charles Houen, on secretary@iped-editors.org. Queries about the renewal process should be directed to Victorian Accreditation Board delegate Kath Harper on iped_accred@editorsvictoria.org.
