From the President

This newsletter arrives at an important time for all Australian editors. As I write, the special IPEd dinner is about to be held. The IPEd SurveyMonkey vote is also opening. Editors Victoria submits the survey to you in the form requested by the IPEd working party.

You are asked to vote on the model or models you think worthy of having a business case developed. IPEd Council has asked its working party to develop both cases, if that view is supported by the wider membership on this vote. The resulting detailed business case or cases will be put to the membership of all societies to vote on to determine the preferred model for the future of IPEd. This is EV's current priority. An enormous amount of work has been put in by Rob Sheehan, Rosemary Noble, and Charles Houen, to mention just the main Victorian representatives. There is a lot more still to do. Please vote!

Redact has been launched! Our residential development program for established editors will be held at Hepburn Springs Bellinzona Resort from 10 to 11 August. It is astonishingly good value for money. It's a great program. It's tax deductible. If you haven't yet booked, what are you waiting for?

The AGM is also coming up in August. Would you like to be more involved in the society during this important transition period? Are you interested in consolidating your experience, or even in adding to your CV? Just want to contribute? Served in the past, and think it's time to get involved again? All great reasons to get involved. Consider standing for committee at the AGM. And at least come to the AGM. It will be free for members again this year.

In the past six months I've enjoyed meeting many new members, as well as making the acquaintance of longstanding members and the wonderful guests we've had at our regular dinner meetings. Editors Victoria now has close to 650 members! We've had some great attendances at dinners. Our maximum capacity is 120. Imagine if we all got together at once! At least I hope for a great turnout to vote for the IPEd business cases on SurveyMonkey.

Cheers, and hope to see even more of you, and meet even more of you, over the next couple of months.
