We’ve got a whole range of meetings and training courses planned for the rest of the year, so here are the dates to note in your diary. Our dinner meetings are held at CQ Melbourne, freelance lunches at The Fitz Cafe, and training courses at the CAE in Flinders Lane.

Tuesday 24 May – Freelance Lunch
Come and enjoy a relaxing lunch and afternoon chat at The Fitz Cafe, 347 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, at 12.30pm. The Fitz Cafe is at the corner of Brunswick and Kerr streets in Fitzroy. Register through the member portal. The regular menu is online and vegan specials can be ordered if given notice.

Wednesday 15 June – Dinner
Veronica Sullivan, editor of Kill Your Darlings, will speak about the challenges, the rewards and the practicalities of running a literary journal that has a multimedia presence, as well as her ongoing goal to spotlight diversity in opinion and voice.

Wednesday 19 October – Dinner
Alice Pung, author of Laurinda and editor of the upcoming My First Lesson, a collection of writings by teens about their school experiences, will speak about working with young writers, the unique challenges, the rewards and ways we can promote opportunities for these new voices.
