So you’ve taken the leap, set up your editing business and have some clients.

Now you want to take it to the next level. How do you make a living wage, let alone grow your income, in a competitive freelance marketplace?

Advanced dance steps for the self-employed editor is for you if you’re already operating freelance and want to market your professional services more effectively, expand your client base, make the most of your billable hours and even-out the slow spots in the calendar.

If you’ve previously done a Dance Steps course, you’ll know we mix up information, discussion, experience and activities across the five essential elements of being successfully self-employed:  masterminding the big picture as well as taking care of the details; getting your name out there; creating and looking after the wealth; learning constantly to broaden and deepen your know-how; and working smarter to keep all your irons in the fire.

Going solo means juggling marketing, operations, bookkeeping and tax as well as actually doing the work and developing your skills. Roll these all together and you have a whole system to set up to fit it all into the workday.

In the advanced course, we won’t be covering the basics of how to set up a business or whether you’re suited to freelance as you will already be operating, whether or not you’ve previously done a Dance Steps course.

You will reflect on your own practice as you develop your plan to zap your business forward.
